Error after render but before burn

Post by Dacar92 »

Does anyone know what this cryptic error code means:

dvdr-dao-spti-53-02-05-24-00

I wish they would just write error codes so that you don't have to go on a 2 day search to find out what it means. My momentum in burning is now stopped.

Using VideoStudio 7. Drivers are updated, etc, etc.

I have VS 8. Should I install it? It is better than 7? What are the advantages in upgrading it?

Thanks in advance.

Versions 7 & 8 were so long ago I don't really remember what or wasn't included. The one thing I do remember is v8 had a lot of out-of-sync issues. There were work-arounds though.

Why don't you download the trial of the newest version (11)? You'll be amazed at what you can do that you can't do with v7 or 8.

That sort of error message is usally associated with your burner having difficulty writing to the disc in it. If you go to videohelp.com, there is a list there somewhere of brands and types of blank DVDs which are more suited to particular burners. Or you could simply try burning to a different type/brand of DVD...

The error code means invalid field in the CDB...feel better now?! :D
All it really means is that the burner ran out of data. Now what that means is anybody's guess.

I would suggest housekeeping if changing the media. as suggested by Black Lab and Ken, doesn't help.

Make sure your hard drives are defragged and any unnecessary garbage cleaned out. Also make sure any unnecessary background services are turned off.
