VOB files in VideoStudio 11 Plus

Post by nheyer »

Hello

In version 10, I was able to add VOB files to my project, but had then problems when adding them to the video track (the program crashed). I thought the problem would probably be resolved by upgrading to the new 11 version. In fact, it's not or should I say I cannot even add some VOB files to my project: it's an unrecognized format.

So what should I do now ? I thought, the easiest way to insert videos was in fact to copy them from my camcoder to my home DVD writer connected to my TV. That produced me the VOB files...

I'm a bit frustrated having just bought an upgrade for 60 £á and have no solution... Has someone an idea ?

Thanks
Nicolas

That ability was, inexplicably, removed from v11. :? You could try changing to .vob extention to .mpg, that sometimes works.

What type of video camera do you have? If it's a digital camcorder the best way to "capture" (really a transfer) is via firewire.

Thanks for your good advice.

I renamed the extensions to mpg and it seems to work really good now.

To reply to your other question, I have an old camcoder bought in 1995 that does not permit this. But I will try the next time with my new camcoder.
