burning mp2 files

Hi I have recorded mpeg files and have edited them ( taken out commercials) and want to save each one back as mpeg.
Can this be done with Movie Factory 4.

Also when I have edited 3 mpeg files and then tried to burn on dvd
it stops at 33 %.

Can you convert the several mpegs to dvd format and then
can you join the dvds together someway into one file to burn.
Can nero do this
