Re: VOBU_IDX Type of Files
Are you referring to the files created and placed on the DVD and/or DVD folders?Quincon wrote:All of my video files have a pair of files is this normal?

The significance is, that if they didn't create such bizarre file names, you would not have much to ask questions about?
VOB (Video Object) is a container file, that contains the MPEG2 video file, audio, subtitle and menu contents all in one file. It may also create IFO files, which are Video Title Sets, and BUP which are the Back UP files.
As far as the IDX, those are Index files.
DVD players use those file extensions in order to play the DVDs, so I guess they are very significant..

Thank you very much for your informative answer.
Amongst the dozens of pairs of these files, I have imported to my hard disk it appears that I have lost several of the index type. I intend to edit these video clips in the near future and so far, I am not able to see what effect the loss has on the video clip. I have searched and cannot find them anywhere on my computer. Is there a way of retrieving or replacing them or do I have to re-import.
