I have been using VS 8.0 since it was released and have been abole to capture, edit and create video files successfully. Although I can burn a disc and burn a project to the hard drive, I have not been able to burn an entire movie project to either an 80 GB hard drive or a DVD.
I follow the prescribed procedure to create the project. This is usually about an hour and 30 minutes in length and broken into 5 or 6 MPG files. If I got to SHARE and then Make Video File and put all the MPGs in the timeline, it will act like it's creating the whole project as a video file to be burned to the hard drive, but will only incorporate an hour and 10 minutes of the project and just leave out the rest.
It is set to encode the entire project at the best quality possible. The results when burned with Nero, are as good as commercial DVD quality but I would like to be able to do an entire project with Video Studio. Any suggestions?

That is not the "prescribed procedure" or, as we like to call it, the Suggested Workflow.I follow the prescribed procedure to create the project. This is usually about an hour and 30 minutes in length and broken into 5 or 6 MPG files. If I got to SHARE and then Make Video File and put all the MPGs in the timeline
The Suggested Workflow is:
1. When you are finished editing your project go to Share>Create Video File and create a DVD-compatible MPEG-2 file.
2. Clear the timeline (choosing File>New Project is the easiest way to do this), then go to Share>Create Disc.
3. From the Burn window click Add Media>Add Video Files to add the MPEG-2 file(s) you made in step 1.
