Capture no graph found
have been using ulead for a few years now and love it. have just upgraded to uvs 11+. Have increased the memory to 4g, and before that I could capture my vhs tapes played on our vcr using my dazzle device and now I can not. we have the drivers for it but when I go to capture is just tells me that no capture graph, and also when I was able to capture using uvs 10, when I went to delete my projects after they were burned to a dvd, it would tell me to help protect your computer windows has closed the program...frustrating...

Welcome to the forums,
Have you downloaded and installed the Update? It corrects the problem with analog capture. You can download it HERE.
Also on that page are the Hot Fix and Power Pack. Do not install the Hot Fix if you did not experience problems with the AVControl SDK, while installing. Install the Update patch first, then the Power Pack.

What model of Dazzle device do you have? Check on Ulead's website and see if it is listed. http://www.ulead.com/tech/general/compatibility.htm. Also read the footnotes, as with some, adding a line to the ini file will help them work.

With some capture cards/devices, capturing with the software that came with it is recommended. Once you have it on your PC, you can use VS to edit. I have an old Dazzle device in a box somewhere...
Just my personal opinion, I've never liked it. I prefer using one of my camcorders as a pass-through A-D converter.
I think that since Pinnacle makes Dazzle, they might intend on it being used with their products, therefore making it very difficult to use with any other..

My husband got it working with ulead and then we had more memory put in and now it is just not going. I can use the pinnacle but i really have gotten used to ulead and really like using the programme..
..it is just the vhs tapes that i am having the problem with i wish to transfer them to dvd as some of them have special memories for us...i wish that ulead had something similar that i could use....in with the vcr to computer....our camcorder is a canon mv 700. guess that maybe I am stuck with pinnacle
can you think of another way to do it

For analog capture you would need to purchase a different capture device/card. There's no need to spend more money, when you just capture using Pinnacle, then insert the captured video into VideoStudio for editing.
Several of us use several programs through-out the process, including a different capture utility. For capturing DV, Ken Berry and I favor a small free utility called WinDV. Once our video is captured, we can use whatever editing program, like VS. We also will use third-party programs for titles, effects, another to build our DVD menus, and finally yet another to burn the DVDs.
I don't think there really is a consumer grade program that does everything well. They are all tools in our production toolboxes.
I purchased my Camcorder, a Sony DCR-TRV120 ( Digital-8 ) off of ebay a few years back at a cost of $200. I use it to convert the analog signal from my VCRs to Digital, then pass it to my PC via Firewire.
I'm not sure what flavor of capture card that others like Steve and Ken use. Hopefully someone else will provide you with that information..

First, I am sure Ron is correct and the Dazzle device can only capture using the Pinnacle software that came with it.
Second, there is a bug in VS11/11+ which means it cannot capture analogue source material, whether using a digital mini DV camera as a a pass-through device, a Digital 8 camera playing an analogue 8mm/Hi8 tape or an external capture device which is capturing via firewire from an analogue source.
The Update patch released on 6 November corrects the first and the third of these problems, but not the second (Digital
. Unfortunately for Ron and me (I have a Sony Digital 8 DCR-TRV480E), that tends to ruin the very specific reason I bought that camera for. However, curiously, with the patch, I can still use the Sony as a pass-through device. And of course, I can use the camera with VS10 and earlier versions with no problem!!

capture graph fix
I have found that if you hit play for a few seconds after you have device control and then go to capture you do not receive this error and the capture is successful. you lose the first couple of seconds of content but it works.

You can also try this..
In the Preferences dialog, go to the Capture tab. Place a tick in the box beside Press OK to capture. Untick the box beside Stop DV tape when capturing stops.
Etech6355 provided that bit of info back when VS11 was just released, and we first discovered these capture issues. It works for some.
