Trial Wont intialize after date change

Post by bojomojo »

I had Ulead Video Studio 11+ Trial installed, I had a problem and to fix it I had my laptop disassembled and assembled again so every setting was reset including the dates..

After that when I open the studio, at the screen which gives me try or buy options, i click try, then it closes and an errors comes out saying that security details is invalid or has been modified, and it closes

That's correct behavior of the TBYB. If they didn't have that security setting, people could continually use the trial versions, simply by setting the clock back.

If you have another PC you could try installing on it.

Sorry, but once that happens, the trial will not work. It treats it as the 30 days has expired. You can try contacting Corel, but I think they will tell you the same. After that you need to purchase it if you want to continue using it...:(

What other problem? You posted that after your date reset, the trial closes down, which is how the TBYB is to work. The trial version is just to let you see how the program works, so you can decide on if you want to purchase it or not. It allows up to 30 days, however since there are those that try to circumvent the time-clock, the vendors have no choice but to code in security measures that prevent that, or at least make it so troublesome to do so, it's not worth the effort.

As I stated earlier, you can contact Corel Customer Service, and see. However even downloading a fresh file, will still throw up that security error. The TBYB places a time-trigger on your system. I've even tried to find it, to no avail, as I once had a similar problem that you have. I downloaded the TBYB of PI, and could not try it out, because it said my time was up.

No problem..... just format your C drive and re-install Windows, Re-install all your other software such as Microsoft Office, Email, Sound and Video Drivers, Anti-Virus, all of your saved spreadsheets, word documents, photographs, music files so on and so forth and Bingo!! you have a fresh 30 days to play with
:D

Alternatively - and perhaps more sensible - is to purchase it.
