VS11+ project import problem
VS11+ project import problem
I am thinking of getting MovieFacotry 6+ but am having a bit of difficulty with the demo (tbyb) version. I don't seem to be able to import my VS11+ projects into it. Has anyone had success at importing VisualStudio project files into MovieFactory 6+?

This is not just a problem with the TBYB, it exists in the full version too. I've been trying to get DVDMF6 + to accept VS11+ project files (vsp) however it refuses to, giving the File format mismatch error.
I've reinstalled several times, including all the patches, it still will not insert VS11 vsp. However for me, this is not an issue, because I follow our suggested workflow, found HERE. In summary, capture, edit, Share, Create Video File, start a new project (or just clear the timeline), and so-on in VS.
This provides me a DVD Compliant MPEG2, that I can insert into whatever DVD authoring program I choose, such as DVDMF6+. I realize that the program does allow for inserting VSP files, but I would rather put less strain on my PC, by not forcing it to do so much at one time.

Ron,
In VS11+ you can "Save As" and change to backward compatibility to save in the VS10 project mode.
You can then insert the VS10.VSP project file into MF6+.
I couldn't try this with the trial version of MF6+. So it works on the Retail version with the patches.
Although I don't see to much use in this. If you apply a color filter/effects they aren't passed to the MF6+ program to render the video.
Even if the VSP file comes directly from VS10+.
Maybe you could enlighten me on the benefits of using a VS project in MF.

Ok, I should not have worded as such.. I was just trying everything I could think of, except using the backwards compatibility. I knew they were released at different times, but thought that maybe since there are a lot of similarities, by some fluke MF6+ would.etech6355 wrote:Ron,

Sorry, you're not getting any enlightenment from me. I don't use VSPs in the burn module of VS, and certainly not with MF6+.
