VS11 Plus - Vid Cap problems

Just purchased VS11 Plus. Installed fine. Preview windows show video source feeds fine. When I click "Capture Video", the ulead video window freezes at the current display frame, the app locks up and goes non-responsive until doing a windows "end task". After messing with this for some time, I went to the support site and saw the patch for VS11. Installed fine, but same issue after rebooting and running again. Current capture source is a Sony CCD-TRV25 piped through a Plextor ConvertX (M402U). Capturing with the same setup via Intervideo's WinDVD Creator application has been fine to date for dozens of videos. PC is running WinXP Pro SP2, 3GB Memory, 3GHz processor, 200GB Free HD space. Any thoughts/recommendations?

Try this recent all-time favorite...

Go HERE and download the latest MS Direct-X drivers. The most current is dated Nov. '07.

Thanks. Downloaded and installed. Also updated ATI drivers to most recent. Still same results even after a reboot (works fine till I hit the capture vid then it freezes for eternity). I just ran the same capture with WinDVD Creator and it still works fine from the same video source. I'm hoping I didn't waste money on this product as I was looking for an "upgrade" from WC.

Ugh. After digging through many postings on VS11 capture problems, I found this link:

I believe I am pretty much sunk with the new product and the Plextor.

that's why we all should first download free trial before buying and that trial must work (mine doesn't because it I cannot install patches on trial version)

I just hope some developers reading this forum. And they fix Plextor and patch problems as soon as possible...
