Syncing Two Videos

Post by Codeslinger »

Hi guys,

I'm presently trying to sync up video of a choir production shot simultaneously from two cameras. I'm using VS10+ and am finding out my workflow would be much easier if I could split video clips in the overlay area. In looking back over past forum messages, I see that it was anticipated that VS11 would have this capability. However, I don't see any info regarding that on the new features advertised for VS11, so I was wondering if anyone could tell me if that feature actually was included in the new release? Thanks in advance for the info & for all the work everyone puts into this forum!

Multiple overlay tracks are indeed available in VS11, but in the PLUS version (i.e. VS11+), not just VS11...

Ken,

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I currently have the capability to have multiple overlay video tracks in VS10+. What I need to know is if VS11+ allows the "splitting" of overlay video tracks. In VS10+ that capability is only available in the main video track.

Codeslinger...one of the advantages of UVS11plus is allowing you to edit the video overlays, you can cut and delete sections of the video overlays. The sections not deleted stay in the overlay track. This is a neat feature when working with two or more camcorders. The only trick is...to syncronize all the camcorders video footage so it starts at exactly the same time and moment of all the camcorders. There are several ways of doing that...you can use visual cues or sound cues or both.
