In the first place, how am I supposed to know what version you are using???? I suggest you read the PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE POSTING thread. It is there for a reason.

More specifically, I don't think you can. You can rename timelines and if you need to identify what you have in a track (I can't see why????), I suggest you put that track in its own renamed timeline and then import it into your main timeline. This suggestion applies only to MSP8. If you are using an earlier version, then you would have to upgrade to benefit from this possibility.

If you have a sharpie or CD pen, you can write the new name directly under the old. Note that this doesn't work well if you move your MSP window about a lot, so it's best to run it maximised and dock the timeline.

You might want to white-out the original track name and write over the correction fluid, but I don't find it enough of a distraction. There's plenty of room in the track title area, even for big writing like mine.

Hope that helps!
