As far as I was aware, the trial version gives you all the major functions of the full version. The only things missing that I know of are most of the DVD menu templates and the Help files... Plus, of course, you cannot add the features contained in either the update patch or Power Pack.

The lack of the help file on the trial version is a big mistake. That's when you most need it!

Not quite.... the help file is available here
Ulead VideoStudio 11 User Manual (14.2MB)

It is a separate download to keep the size of the program download small.
Even as we approach the close of 2007 there are still many people who use a modem to connect to the internet.

Thanks for the info but I guess you agree that people who download the trial and don't see the help link anywhere will think it doesn't exist. Ulead should at least make the help download available next to the trial link. I have seen many posts here from people with the trial version and looking for the help file.

Corel are in the process of closing some of the former Ulead/Intervideo Sites to centralise things on the Corel Website.

If you now try and download the trial version you are taken to the new site and have to create a new account or log into an existing one. On the new download page you will find the following
If you wish to access the user manual or product information for the software, which can be downloaded as .pdf files here, you will require a copy of Acrobat Reader.
(The word here on the download page is a link to the manual)
