VRO Files and Video Studio 11 Plus

Post by aeep »

Am I doing some thing wrong or missing something?

I have a Panasonic DVD Player with a Hard Disk & DVD RAM, when I record my old Analogue Camcoder tapes on to a DVD RAM disk, I would then like to import it into Video Studio 11 plus to edit etc but is does not seem to be a supported format.

Can VRO files be used bu Video Studio 11 plus??

A lesser package like AVS Video Editor does so I would expect Video Studio 11 plus or m I asking too much?

Have a nice Xmas and thanks to anyone who replies

I have a Panasonic (DMR-EZ47K) with DVD-RAM capability. Use it all the time and VS 11+ imports these files fine for me. I've not had much of a problem. I use DVD-RAM discs with .VRO files.

What seems to be the problem and what commands are you using?

Could be. Are you sure the DVD drive on your pc is DVD-RAM capable? Most recent drives are, but if it's a couple or more years old it might not be.

To check it, if you have Nero installed, go to the "toolkit" and click on "Nero info tool". This will bring up a screen showing the capabilities of your burners, and you should look for a ticked checkbox next to DVD-RAM.

If you don't have Nero installed, the info tool is available as a free download from Nero.

Chaps many thanks for your replies, as a newbie I now realise my error as I was just copying the VRO files over to my hard disk.

I have taken the advice to import a DVD and using my Panasonic DVD RAM it worked!

I can now spend my time moving my old Analogue camcorder tapes to DVD RAM then import to VS11, edit etc then burn on to normal standard DVDs. Hopefully I will not get too much picture degradation, I shall soon find out.

Have a happy new year :D :D :D
