DVD MovieFactory upgrade to 4.0

I have bought and downloaded the version 4.0 to upgrade my earlier one (3.0), but so far I was unable to install it at all.

At first, when I start dmf4_upgr_e.exe it seems to be ok. Extracts the files, and starts the install. The first strande thing is that the licence agreement is completely empty. Nevertheless I can accept it. Then it finds cirrectly my name and the serial number of the previous version. Then I ask for a Complete install to the default directory. Then the countru list is once again empty. Fortunately I can select PAL from the list below. Then the install begins. At the very beginning it sais that LAYOUT.BIN file is not available. And so that is the end. Unable to complete the installation.

Does anyone has any similar problem?

Try this: go to add/remove to uninstall any and all versions of MF on your machine. Restart your computer, Install your previous version, restrat your computer then install the upgrade.

Your installer file might not be downloaded completely or is been corrupted. I think you might need to request for re-download the installer file.

This time try to download with a download manager such as GetRight or Free Download Manager.

Called Ulead and this is what they had me do. (worked)

- LOCATE your downloaded file.
- Right click on that file.
- Extract file to an empty TEMP dir using either WINRAR or WINZIP.
- Run the setup program from that TEMP dir.

The downloaded executable does not properly extract all the required files.. Good luck.
