update layer window error-VS 11+ running error

Post by simongui »

I just bought a VS 11+ and installed on my computer. However, this error message appeared when I tried to run it: An error occured while update layer window. BTW, I installed the hot fix patch before installing the VS 11+.

My computer system is win XP SP2.

Has anyone here experenced this before? Thanks very much if someone can help me.

Welcome to the forums,

Did you try to install VS11 first before running the Hotfix, and received the error mentioned below the hotfix download?
*

Installation failed. In some cases, during installation of VideoStudio 11/11Plus the error message "A fatal error has occured during installation" after the message "AVControl SDK will be installed" appears.

NOTEs:

* Hot Fix is for use ONLY with the Full, Upgrade and TBYB version of Ulead VideoStudio 11 and 11 Plus
* This Hot Fix can not be uninstalled
* Please follow these steps to install the Hot Fix:
1. Manually remove the Ulead VideoStudio 11/11Plus files/folder under Program Files or where you installed.
2. Install this Hot Fix
3. Install Ulead VideoStudio 11/11Plus
You will need to do a manual (full, clean) uninstall of VS. Instructions can be found here : Re-installation of Ulead Products. Once you have VS, removed completely, then try reinstalling it (not the Hotfix, as it states it can not be uninstalled), and see if it will function correctly, before trying to install any of the patches.
