Timeline View Not Showing Individual Frames

Post by dtspinella »

Describe your problem: When I go in to Timeline View in Edit mode after Capturing the entire AVI file just shows as a single frame. It does not show all the frames in the file (45 minutes in length) so I cannot do frame by frame editing. If I choose Multi-Trim Video that works fine and I can see all the frames in the file.

Properties of your source files (format, file size, where did you get it?):

AVI, 9.6GB.
Standard capture from my Sony DV source (using standard capture defaults)

What devices are involved and their mode of connection?:

Sony DCR-HC40 using Firewire connection

Project Settings (important):

DV Video Encoder -- type 1, DV Audio -- NTSC

Product Version: VS10 Plus

This is easily rectified...;)

Open up the Preferences dialog, by either pressing F6 on your keyboard or from the File menu. Look on the First (General) tab for the Clip Display Mode. There are 3 options; Thumbnail and file name (which you are using), Thumbnail Only (which you want) and File name only.

Select the Thumbnail Only, click OK, and back to the time-line to accurately edit your project...;)
