Hi

From a new project
File ¡V Insert Media Files to Timeline ¡V Insert Dvd/Dvd¡K
Then select Import.

Select the chapters to import

Be patient

Ps the audio-ts folder is empty, this folder is no longer used.

Do you see a little box to the immediate left of each chapter. Tick that and the Import option should become active.

If you have the video with audio you want to save in the timeline, then all you do is go to Share > Create Sound File. You don't have to split the audio off. A dialogue box will appear, you give the file a name and note where it will be stored. The process takes a few seconds. I just tried it and it worked with no problems.

Only need one song

Post by mamamichigan »

Sorry i know i must seem dumb as a brick but have not done this before. The thing is there are about 8 songs on the video and i only need one of them. Don't i have to just cut that one and save it somehow? thank you for your patience and help.

Try this approach, which depends on the version of VS you're using..

VS11+ has Cue point markers, AND Chapter point markers, VS10+ has only Chapter point markers. You can use either to achieve this. I will refer to Cue point for this example.

With your video in the time-line, Select Save as and give your project a new name. This is preserve your original project in case things go wrong.

Then go to the start point of the music you want to use to produce the sound file. Place a cue marker at that point on the time-line. Proceed to the end of that music, placing another cue marker. Now go back to the Start Cue mark, and cut the video clip, proceed to the end cue mark, cut again.

Now delete from the time-line everything except the clip, or parts that has the music. Now go to Share>Create Sound File, and you should have a sound file of the music.

This can also be done by splitting the audio, and going through the same process, using only the audio track.
