You're right! It can be more than 8264 when MPEG audio is used. Selecting LPCM audio changes the BR automatically to 8264 and prevents increasing it.vidoman wrote:Yes VS does,
I tried switching off SmartRender. I also tried to make all project settings the same with the clip properties, but I couldn't find any control to change the audio to Dolby Digital. Where exactly should it be located? Is it the same as Surround sound? (I don't think it should be, because the audio in the clips is most likely just DD stereo)
Maybe I don't have the full version after all. There's a line "Ulead Dolby Digital PowerPack 1.0" in the about box, though.

Darn! I don't have that choice in the pull-down menu!vidoman wrote:LPCM does only allow 8264, never noticed that before.. I've always used a lower bitrate, or Dolby, which can be found on the same tab, on the same pull-down menu, as LPCM.
EDIT:
Ok, I did a thoroughly clean reinstall and Dolby Digital Audio is available again. All the problems disappeared immediately. I can even use SmartRender.
Thanks all you guys for being patient! If you hadn't shown me where DD audio is supposed to be, I never would have noticed anything wrong with the install itself. This community has restored my trust in Ulead software when I was 5 minutes away from switching to Sony Vegas
