Hello and thank you for your time, I just bought a Sony Vaio Laptop with a Matshita Blueray player. When i try to play a movie in Windvd (version :
8.0 DXVA B08.385) it says this dics is coded to region a and wont play on this machine. So the st thing i did was go to device manager and check the region under the blueray player, it is set to region 1(us).
So then i went to windvd setup and under region/dvd it is also set to 1 with 4 changes left. Now win i go to the blue ray tab in the setup menu, there is no option selected. and it say i have 5 changes left. But i cant change anything and the options are grayed out. it seems it has been locked with no region. I even tried to start up windvd as a adimitrator, and the same thing, options a grayed out. here is all my info from the info tab ::OS:

Your laptop should be under warranty - go back to the store you bought it from. If you mess about too much you might void that warranty.dankz wrote:Hello and thank you for your time, I just bought a Sony Vaio Laptop with a Matshita Blueray player. I had the same problem until I downloaded and installed the latest patch from Sony website. Download and install the path from www.sony.com/support . The latest patch will update WinDVD to 8.0 B08.425
