I want to use some still images in my video, but I can not get the quality of the still images to be as good as the video. The sharpness is lower. This means that when I play the resulting video there is a disturbing change in picture quality while the still image is displayed on the screen.
I have tried to resample the still image in PhotoImpact to various pixel sizes but I have not been able to get the original quality of the still image.
As I want to pan a little which image size is optimal.
I have saved my images as jpgs with 95%. My video is PAL.
Any ideas or suggestions would be most welcome!
Thanks
Still image quality is inferior.

The stills are coming from my Canon Digital Ixus 800 IS (Powershot Digital Elph 6.0 Mpixs). They look great printed on paper or in Photo Explorer/PhotoImpact.

I have tried various sizes between 2000 to 768px (width).
When you insert your pics to you get a quality that reflects the quality of your originals?

This subject has been discussed many times. Some people, such as myself, never have to change the size of my pics. I just import them from my camera and they look great, even if I use Pan & Zoom. Maybe it's a hardware issue (graphics card?) since some have problems and some don't.

In File/Preferences, Edit tab, do you have the Resampling quality set to Best?
I never tested with the various settings there to see the difference but I always used Best and the Compression/Quality slider bar to 100 for rendering and like Black Lab used my pics straight out of my 8 Mpixels camera and the quality was always excellent, even with pan & zoom.

Just to confirm, my Resampling is set to Best, and I always set the Compression/Quality to 100.
