Looking for a snow type of effect

I am looking for a snow effect. I want to take text and scroll upward from the bottom of the screen and as it gets to the top, I want it to shatter and then start falling like snow.

As the snow is falling, I plan to fade in anther background picture that will gradually take over the falling snow.

Any suggestions? I have been looking in VS11 Plus and WAX 2.0 (that I just downloaded).

Sounds like a job for Cool3DPS - it also sounds like an interesting idea.
