PI 10 will not update Registry - HELP!!

Post by Arlexda »

I have PI 10 on my VISTA Home Premium and it partially works. I do have a problem with loading a few presets but . . .

I set the program to run with Windows XP (service pk2) and run as Adminstrator.

I get a message that the program did not update the Registery and the program will not recognize some of my .ufo saved graphics but, will recognize others. Who knows what is going on but, I can work with other presets.

Is there anyway around the program updating the Registry. Or, does anyone know how to fix this part so I can use the program.

I did register the program with Ulead when I purchased it but, I know that this doesn't have anything to do with the updating the Registry part. I do know that if the program isn't registered that it will not show up in the file/assocation menu. It shows up there in places but, not others? Now that is a mystery too or, is the program not updating the Registry related to this problem too.

I did download a trial version of PI 12 but, it would not open saying something to the effect that "single user" cannot use - has to be registered". If they let you download a copy for trial use - then why can't I try it first???

I also have been looking at Corel Draw Graphics Suite X3. Does anyone know if this has the same features as PI 10.

PLEASE Does anyone have a suggestion?

I am at my workplace at the moment and our company firewall prevents me from opening http://www.ulead.com - if you take a look at that site then open the link for PhotoImpact and then "Updates" you will see if there is a Vista Patch. I think though that the Vista Patch was only for version 11 and not 10.

Regarding the other matter - PhotoImpact 12 Trial - use "Run As" and select the administrator option.

Regarding a comparison of PhotoImpact to Corel Draw Graphics Suite
Please see this similar thread Photoimpact 12 versus Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo X2 Everything that applies in that link will apply to this comparison.
