Adding Title Page to Beginning of my Project

Post by ChristmasGrinch »

OMG! This is making me NUTS!!

I've created the project, now I want a title page. I don't want it superimposed over my first image. I downloaded the manual. It's not helping. Between this and my other question I'm about to SCREAM!!! This shouldn't be that hard!!

Help, please?!

And it isn't.

If you don't want video behind the title, then simply add in a colour still panel to the beginning of your project. Make sure you have ripple editing enabled so that the whole project, and not just the main timeline, moves to the right.

You can select a colour from the Colour library which you can find in the little window up in the top middle of screen, just below the Audio and Share tabs.

With the colour panel in the timeline and highlighted, you can change its length either with the little digital clock or simply by dragging the yellow bar on its right hand end further right.

Then insert your title over this colour panel.

And of course you can use a still photo behind the title instead of the colour panel -- or even another piece of video... If I am using just a colour panel, sometimes, to give that a bit more interest, I will insert a black panel for a few seconds, then a cross fade into the colour panel. And to add a bit of oomph to that panel, I will give it a gradient fill so that it is not just one solid colour. All a matter of personal choice, though...

Ken's technique of fading from black will focus and the audience on your production.
