[Help] Project Wizard problems

Post by random_user »

Hi. I recently downloaded Photo Impact 12 and constantly tried to used the Project Wizard (the one with three steps, templates, and stuff) but when I click a template in the first step, it shows me a message saying to install the content packs or something. I downloaded the content packs, which i think are the content packs, but when I install it a message comes up saying "Cannot find Ulead PhotoImpact 12 on your system or the installed version is not supported. Please make sure that you have installed a supported Ulead PhotoImpact12 version first." I think this is the main problem and I installed the program, but it just shows that message. Can anyone help?

Welcome to the forums,

First we need to know if you downloaded and installed the TBYB (trial) version, or did you purchase it?

I don't think the components will install to the trial versions. I know at the top of the Components download page, it is written so that you think they will. However just above the links to download the components is this:
PhotoImpact Content for Download
Owners of the PhotoImpact 12 full and upgrade download versions can download the following files. If you do not have PhotoImpact 12 installed, you will NOT be able to use these components.
The text in red indicate that you must have purchased it.

Well. I don't really know if its the TYBY version or the ESD version and I first downloaded the Trial version of PhotoImpact 12 and then got the full with the Activation Code

Oh no...:(

This has been a long time problem with the activated TBYB versions. You do have a full version. However the patches, and in your case the components are still seeing your version as a trial and not a full version.

Have you tried rebooting your machine after activation? Try doing that to see if after rebooting the components installer sees it differently. Next I would try doing a reinstall, activate it, then reboot, before trying to install the components.

If that fails then you will need to contact Corel Tech Support or better yet since you just purchased this, I would contact Corel Customer Service and tell them you want a "Full" ESD file, and not the Activation key. Then you after downloading the Full file, uninstall the trial version, install the full.

Oh. Well, I'm pretty sure that I tried the reinstalling, rebooting, and then component install. I'll try rebooting and see if it works any differently.

Ya. First I tried downloading what I thought was the Content Pack and then, I downloaded every single program that was related to PhotoImpact 12, but they all said the same thing "Cannot find Ulead PhotoImpact 12 on your system or the installed version is not supported. Please make sure that you have installed a supported Ulead PhotoImpact12 version first."
Oh. and I tried what you suggested on rebooting and then trying to download the Content Pack, but same result

You need to contact Corel. In searching their wonderful FAQ, I finally found 1 reference to a similar problem. It was with VS9 not installing the updates. Typical Corel response, reinstall. However they further stated if that didn't work to send an email, and they would provide further instructions..

Unless someone that has been through this posts a solution, I'm at a loss on how to get that TBYB flag removed.

Here's a link to the post when this type of issue surfaced and the fix..

However it's basically the same as what you've been trying..
