Welcome to the forums,
I don't understand why you need to activate it. If it was bundled with your camcorder, then it should be an SE version. Those should not require any activation, and you can not register it. Sanyo probably purchased this version of DMF 5 in large lots, and were issued a block license. The serial number should be embedded, so you shouldn't need to enter it to get the program to work.
Can Corel mail you? Yes they are capable of mailing you, however will they? No probably not. For TBYB (trial), and free (bundled) software, there is no tech support.

I don't know about the Sanyo camcorders but the Canon cams bundled with MF5.6se use this link which appears to use an activation code.
This is not like previous releases of SE versions, maybe because they are h264 specfic.

Thank you for choosing Corel!
Before using these products, you are required to get a serial number to activate your products. Please follow the steps

The link is found on the Canon site when searching on help with the new Canon HG10 avchd/h264 camcorder. I think it was under software updates or similar wording.
I was surprised where the link pointed back to. A good thing to see the manufacturers are keeping up with the software.
On the same page is another link to the updates:
If you click on the "Notice about Corel Application Disc Link
then on this new page click on the "Corel Application Disc Ver 2.0 you will find the updates to the MF5.6se that's distributed with the Canon HG10.
The updates are on the bottom of the page:
http://www.ulead.com.tw/Ulead/Survey/ca ... pg=6&fs=us
I also downloaded and viewed the users manual for the HG10 and MF5.6se: It's really called "Corel Applications Disk" specifically written for the HG10.
When responding to questions related to the MF5.6se version may be a little hard. It is using different interfaces to extract the videos from the cam and also to write them back to the cam. Many other differences compared to the retail MF6+ version. Mainly related to the functions of the HG10 camcorder.
