WinDVD Silver

Post by clapperboard »

I have windvd8 (or so the icon says) got it (or noticed it) when I upgraded VideoStudio to 11. When it runs on starting it displays the name WinDVD Silver. I haven't been able to find anything mentioned about version "Silver".

It runs fine and the quality is good, but on exiting after long movie, or on stopping in the middle of one it crashes and my computer hangs.

Is there still a silver around? Is there a patch for it that will make fix the bug? :(

They seemed to have taken down the old Intervideo website. Which if I recall correctly, did have some info on the "freebies" like WinDVD Silver.

However the version that comes bundled with VideoStudio, WindDVD8 Silver is a freebie. Any bundled version of software from Ulead, Intervideo or Corel does not qualify for patches, or tech support.

I also have this version installed on my XP machine, and have not had any issues with it thus far.

The only thing I can suggest is trying to reinstall it.

Thanks you you help. A freebie is a freebie. I will try what you say. It is a nice media player, but then again not really needed.
