Capture Cards

Post by SPJ29 »

Can anyone recommend some Video Capture Cards that work with the VS10 and DVDWS2 capture facility as I have been using the WinTV PVR250 for a while now but I am fed up using the external capture software as VS10 and DVDWS2 capture facility doesn't work with PVR250.

Of course if there is any update patches that will allow my PVR250 to be seen by VS10 and DVDWS2 then can you direct me to them.

I can't directly answer your question.

You are almost always better-off using the capture software that's specially made for your capture card. My hypothesis is that there is no Microsoft Windows standard for video capture drivers. So, capture software and capture drivers from different vendors just don't know how to talk to each other. (There is such a standard for printers and other common peripherals, so that any Windows word processing program can work with any Windows printer, etc.)

I'm sorry I can't be of more help, as I've only used the Pinnacle DC-10 (what a joke for a capture card), and it is not supported..

However here's the latest from Ulead's Website. Notice this was last updated in November 5, 2004.
