Ok, I've just finished my project and I go to click on Share and then clicked on Create Disc and it comes up with the message "Failed to intialize internal modules" and then proceeds to lock up, meaning I have to press Ctrl, Alt and Del to quit the program.
I have been using MPEG-2 files for this project and the error message still appears even when using one of the VS10+ default videos. This is the first time this has happened to me.
Is a fresh reinstall of VS10+ really necessary?!

A couple of suggestions, if you have been working for a long period of time on your project, and your PC has not been rebooted for awhile, try rebooting it, or shutting it down for a minute or two. Sometimes this will clear up some issues programs may be having.
Do you have any other DVD authoring programs installed? There are some packet-writing utilities that will hi-jack your burner. If you do, try disabling them.
Aside from those, then I would say at the very least a repair install. You would need the install discs to do this though.
Ok, I've tried changing my users and launching VS10+ and using the same option although it is still coming up with the same problem. I've also tried reinstalling VS10+ from the ground up (uninstall, reinstall) to no avail.

As Vidoman has already asked above, do you have any packet-writing software installed, like Nero's InCD or an equivalent unit of the Roxio Easy Media Creator package? It in effect takes control of the computer burner and denies access to it by other programs such as VS. If you have InCD installed (and it will show up in Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs as a separate item), you have to completely uninstall it. The Roxio module can be internally disabled without uninstalling...

The only software which I have on my computer which is something similar is Sonic RecordNow! which has always been on my computer and doesn't seem to have ever interferred with VS10+. I have always used this software to write DVD Disc Images to multiple DVDs and used the "Share>>Create Disc" option within VS10+.
As I said I have tried a Repair install and a complete reinstall although this doesn't seem to have sorted the problem. Are there any outstanding updates which I would need to download and install?
One other thing to note is that nothing in the actual computer system with regards to Hardware has been changed although other video software has been installed although the error within VS10+ was occuring before this was installed. I am unsure whether to list the said software due to the forum rules.

Ok, just a quick update - I have installed the same software onto an alternative computer system and the "Create Disc" screen seems to be loading up just fine without any problems which leads me to some Services which have been disabled to maximise my computer's performance during video editing.
If I do manage to find the problem I will of course report back to let you know of my findings so others can sort this in the future if it ever arises.

Ok, I enabled the obvious Service which I thought might be affecting the Ulead software - Ulead Burning Helper although this didn't seem to make any difference and the error message is still appearing and so it has been disabled again.
Below are two screenshots of the services which I currently have disabled followed by another screenshot showing the services which are set as manual.
Are there any further suggestions please?

I have now tried Start>>Run "msconfig">>Startup>>Enable All and nothing seems to have changed it. I read on another forum that there may be some missing DLLs, but why would that suddenly be when nothing in my copy of VS10+ has changed?!
Please help - I've tried a number of websites to get this sorted and a project finish date is looming
EDIT: Below is a screenshot of the error message which I am getting just in case anyone recognises it...

Okay I thought I'd found the problem using Dependency Walker (a program suggested I try to find a possible missing .dll file from Yahoo Answers - I'm getting desperate for help now!! ).
The file which it found to be missing in c:/windows/system32 was dwmapi.dll which I downloaded from a site and placed within the folder, rebooted up VideoStudio and no change at all to the above error message. This is starting to get to me a bit now since I really need this software to be working and I know that if I have uninstalled this program in the past that it was done using Add/Remove Programs in the correct manner.
After several reinstalls of VideoStudio 10+ and messages to Corel themselves (they won't get dealt with until well after Christmas I know), I still have no solution. The other pieces of software which I have on my computer which I think may be interferring with VS10+ (although I'm not quite sure why since they were installed well after this problem occured) is Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5 and Adobe Encore DVD 2.0 which is just a trial.
Please can someone suggest another thing I could try to get this software working as it did and should??

OR did you just modify it without creating another profile and User Account?
If you did create another Hardware Profile, remove that profile, and User account. It seems as though you didn't and messed up your system. The first step in correcting this is to try a System Restore, to a point before it messed up on you.
Yes, I created a new Hardware Profile and also a new User Account. However, this didn't seem to make much of a difference. System Restore was disabled on the computer to speed up my XP which it did to some extent so I have gone to the steps of Repairing the XP Install, which appears to have done the trick.
I am fairly sure that somewhere along the line a number of dll files associated with the workings of VS10+ were corrupted and/or deleted as I tried downloading dependent files which vstudio.exe uses to no avail.
Anyway, it appears to be working now but thank you to everyone for their help
Oh...and Merry Christmas from the UK!
