Video resize

Post by Tippy »

Ok this may sound like a silly question, but I'm stumped.

I'm in the process of making a GIF avatar using a video. The avatar I set to 128X90 and everything is all set to be made into the avatar... except..

The video I'm using is larger then the avatar size I want, so now only a portion of the video fits into the avatar... like so..

How can I make the entire picture of the video fit inside the frame of the avatar?

On the right side where the thumbnails are select the top thumbnail so it's highlighted, go to the bottom (scroll if you have to) and while holding the shift key select the last thumbnail, this will select every thumbnail. They should all be highlighted in blue now. Go to the menu bar on the top left and select edit>resize image, type in the dimensions of yur canvas and select OK. :D

Er, I'm still having the same issues...

I know how to pick the size avatar I want, the problem is the video that I'm using is 512x384 and it's not fitting into the frame. The video shot only shows the very top corner of the picture.

The only way I've been able to get the video shots to fit into each frame is by going in and individually fix each one of the frames... like so...

*The picture will better explain*

Your using the object properties, you need to use the resize image dialog box from the drop down edit menu and you don't have all the thumbnails highlighted. On the right side where you have the single thumbnail highlighted in green they all have to be highlighted. Also it appears the directions I gave above are slightly flawed. I was giving them from memory and had never tried it from a smaller canvas, it should work but for some reason I can't get it too......besides you didn't get that far anyway. :D Anyhow......

Start a new project with the same dimensions as your video insert the frames then continue with the directions above.

First, you have to highlight ALL the frames in the righthand column like this:

Then go up and click on the EDIT option and THEN select the Resize Image function like this:

And finally, you get this window to Resize the image to your liking:

Hope this clears it up.

I've tried that a few dozen times, it doesn't work period.

What version are you using? And did you try what I suggested by starting a new project the same size as your video then resize it? That does work, if it doesn't then either you have a different version than me or your not following the directions.

I have no problem doing this as long as I simply OPEN an Existing Video first. That will open the video so that you can see all of it. I don't even have to worry about what to set the canvas size as it's done automatically.

Once all the frames are present, then proceed with the details above. It works flawlessly for me and has for some time now. (I've made several various signatures for different forums I visit based on captured videos I've made.)
