Ouch! I'm about to pick up my new system this weekend with Vista 64bit OS.

Would you mind keeping us up to date with how this turns out?

FWIW, on my laptop I have Vista Home Premium, and VS11+. Some of the album transitions just do not work. When Corel released the Vista patch for VS10, they advised that
Some 3D transition effects that won¡¦t be supported on Vista are removed from current release, including: Flying Board, Flying Cube, Flying Flip, Flying Fold, and Folding Box. Some templates under "Album", "Flash Light" and "Mask" transition effect are also not supported.
So looking at the error you're getting, it may (may not) be related to this...

It runs fine under VISTA 64 without the SP1 RC. I was tempted to install the service pack but now I'm glad I didn't.

If you uninstall the SP does Video Studio work again?

Out of curiosity I installed RC1 on my VISTA 64 and it works fine. Where you getting that error on launch?

I was actually pleasently surprised. It seems my CPU usuage is higher across all 4 cores now when rendering. I like it, I like it!

I'm having same issue here too... this does not work with SP1-RC1 Vista 64-bit.

GuyL- Did you patch VS11 first, or Vista first? I am already running Vista SP1 and now I'm trying to patch VS11. I would the reason yours worked is because it sounds like you did it the other way.

Also, It only crashes the first time, there is a progress update bar in the background at 0% and that is what is causing the crash. If you restart VS11 it works, but the fact that update that should run on first execution after patching is failing is not good.

It fails on the PowerPack & The patch.

Perhaps you need to install the FREE upgrade patch to bring yourselves up to VideoStudio 11.5 Plus and also install the FREE HD Pack.

GuyL,
That's a pre-release for Vista Correct?
I'd heard it was good, any problems? Maybe try it this weekend.
Supposedly many fixes, disk thrashing etc. Although I'd had very few problems with Vista..

Yes, it is beta.

I haven't experienced any problems with SP1. Networking and disk copying is much faster. Performance in general is said to be faster but I have never had a problem with Vista performance other then large file copying.

That is the point of this thread, both the pack and patches FAIL on Vista 64-bit with SP1.

I just uninstalled SP1 and installed the SP1 refresh without issue. VS seems to be fully functional. Keep in mind VS was patched before I installed any of these.
