Several Problems with Vista

Post by mhk76 »

I have Windows Vista 64-bit and WinDVD8 gold. Few problems and complaints:

1) Every now and then I have to start WinDVD with administrator rights, because it loses it's registration information and refuses to start otherwise.

2) Does it have to spin up DVD drive EVERY *f* time it starts, even when it is opening a video file from hard drive?

3) Video-options should either be available when watching AVI files, or they shoud be turned off. Now my WinDVD adjusts AVI files' colors for LCD like the AVIs were a DVD, but they are not, and so the colors are all wrong.

4) 64-bit version would be nice.

5) Is the Vista patch, which can be found from support, older or newer than latest WinDVD version? Patch's version is 8.006.104, but the latest trial is 8.0.6.109. If it's older, what's the point having it there?
