Hi Everyone,
I can't believe I was so dumb.
I bought MovieFactory 6+ (downloadable version) in May 2007. I logged into the ulead site and it lists all my registered software so I have my key.
I just bought a new machine. I want to uninstall MF6+ from my old machine and install it on the new one but I can't find the downloaded install package. I thought I backed it up to CD but I can't find it anywhere.
Anyway, since I know my serial number, can I just download the trial version and activate it with my key? Is there any other alternative to re-buying the software?

nope you cant
nope you can't. trial version needs an activation code -- what you have is a serial key.
if you have the latest version of dmf, you can call corel and they can send you the link for the download.

No point contacting Corel, unless you bought it off them directly. It's more likely that you bought your download from an online vendor like elements5. Contact the original vendor with your proof of purchase and they should (have done so for others in the past) give you a fresh download link.
Once you get this, make sure you back it up and label it so you will be able to find it later on. They can only give you a download link for current versions. Once the new version is out, the only available option would be to purchase an upgrade.

What do you intend to do with your old machine?
Options:
1. Use the old machine for MovieFactory.
alternatively
2. Remove the hard drive from the old machine and install it as a second hard drive on the new machine. Follow my method of creating a dual boot system. Start the new computer with only the hard drive from your old computer installed with your Windows setup CD in the CD drive - boot from the CD and do a "Repair installation."
Effectively your old computer is now running on your new and probably faster more powerful computer - all of your old stuff - Office programs, spreadsheets, letters and documents and so on will be intact on your new computer.

Thanks for all the suggestions.
I went to the element 5 web site, and after some digging found a way to purchase the "extended 12 month" download service for $7.99. It un-expired my link and I was able to download the program.
Thanks for everyone's advice. I love these forums.
