Creating Main Menu from another Ulead software

Post by KPPang »

I recently bought VS 11 Plus and am learning to create fun stuff with overlays, editing, soundtracks etc etc.

I am now interested in PhotoImpact 12 but have never used any Corel or Ulead's software for photo editing. I might say I am an intermediate user with Adobe Photoshop.

Can anyone tell me whether PI 12 with its DVD menu creator has a plug-in to VS 11 Plus?
All the other blogs and/or product info on PI 12 indicates plug-in to VS 10 or Ulead DVD MovieFactory.

Someone out there will definitely asked me "Why don't KPPang contact Ulead direct??" Well simply is that all my image/DVD software are in another computer with higher capacity etc and unfortunately am not able to create network to access internet for consultation. And will not be able to gain upload to a trial copy thru net as had been advised before.

Thankyou... simply feel silly writing this long mail, as its my first attempt in using a blog site

Please view:
Tutorial: PhotoImpact: Creating DVD Menu from scratch

Yes it will create menus for all versions of VideoStudio, All versions of MovieFactory, despite the absence of DVD Workshop being listed in the latest version of the DVD Menu Wizard it will also create 4.3 menus for DVD Workshop.

PI 12 to VS 11 Plus

Post by KPPang »

Just reconfirming your reply Steve - PI 12 will create menus from scratch to VS 11 Plus.

Reconfirming becos, all product disclosures on PI 12 emphasize this event only to VS10. No indication to the latest version.
Don't have MovieFactory only working with VS 11 Plus .

Since PI12 came out well before VS11, I am not surprised at the lack of reference to it in PI12 literature. However, the VS menus are in PI12's native .ufo format, so the templates devised in PI can be read by VS11...

Thank you Ken, and Good morning....

Just one last query I hope before I rush out like a chook without a head to get PI12,
In VS 11+ there isn't any icon or menu tool to import Menus (new creations)

Scenario:
Say have already created new menu with image, titles, etc etc,
in PI 12... using export thru PI 12 to VS 11 +

Does this operation automatically insert 'new menu' into the VS 11's 'Main Menu' frame?

Cheers

Sorry -- have to pass on this. I am not an expert by any means with PI12. You may have to wait for Steve Jones (sjj1805) to chip in on this. As you will have seen from his link above, he is the resident expert on this. I have taken a quick look at his tutorial. However, I see it is aimed at VS9 and I think the folder layout in VS11 is rather different, so I am loath to suggest something that may not work...

Cheers Ken
It gets confusing from all the literature for product... found a packaging of PI 12 at local Harvey Norman's - no reference to VS 11+ either

After creating and then saving your new DVD Menu template, place it into a folder below this folder structure
C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio 11\Content\Menu Template

You can create new folders of your own, for example let us suppose you created a 4.3 menu and want it to be in a folder of your own rather than an existing folder you would create something named like
C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio 11\Content\Menu Template\4x3\MyMenus

(use any name you wish - not necessarily MyMenus)

Similarly place any 16.9 menus below this link
C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio 11\Content\Menu Template\16x9

Such as
C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio 11\Content\Menu Template\16x9\MyMenus
