Hallo,
my MF4 did start well for some times. I installed the updates 1 and 4. The OS is WinXP.
Now, when i start MF4, i get to the menu where i can choose between an old project and a new, in the new project i can chosse between dvd, vcd, svcd.
When i choose an item, the menu vanishes, the HD begins working and that's all. In former time there had been a menu to import files etc.
I deinstalled MF4 twice before now and the last time i erased some directories too. There is a guide in the technical F.A.Q..
I used regclean and regcleaner to clean the registry. When I installed again, I booted after ever step (installation, 2 updates).
Any suggestion?
Thank you,
Wolfgang

I don't know if this will make a difference, as it's been a while since I've used DMF4, but what I read on the website regarding the update packs, you should not need to install update pack 1 (build 4.01 release date 6/07/2005). Any of those fixes are included in the Build 4.04, release date 8/21/2005. The latter is also for WinXP.
Sometimes installing more patches than necessary will cause problems. So read the instructions on the pages before installing, and install only those that pertain or are applicable to your system, and are to correct problems you may be having. For example if you install the program and it runs fine without any updates or fixes, then don't install the updates.
So try (yes one more time), doing that full, clean, uninstall. Go through your system and remove everything that has to do with DMF4. Reboot your machine, then install the program. Once that is done, try running it to see if it works ok. Then install only the update packs related to your system.
