I use a PC to create my slideshows. I've been making VCD and DVD versions for some time now and have learned that the DVD's come out better. I ran into something the other day I hadn't encountered before: a Mac user. I made a slideshow for a friend of mine, not knowing she has a Mac. I made a DVD. She then e-mailed me and asked if I could make it so she could play it on her computer using Quicktime (an Apple product). I've been told there's Quicktime for PCs and Quicktime for Mac.
Based on some searching I did, I think she can watch the slideshow using her Mac Quicktime if I burn it as a VCD as opposed to a DVD. Am I correct?
I'd prefer to find a way to convert the DVD to something she can watch using Quicktime on her Mac so I can keep the quality but I don't know if that's possible.
Any thoughts? I imagine I can go to a private company to have this done but would prefer to avoid that cost.

Hi AKav,
There are a number of moderately priced (typically in the $20-30 range) software applications whose specific purpose is converting DVD content to various video formats. Just google "DVD Converter" and you'll see dozens (if not hundreds) to choose from. Select a program that offers QT compatible output. I would always recommend experimenting with the "trial" version of ANY video related software before purchasing.
Quicktime Format Compatibility / FAQ:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/QuickTime
Be sure to review the entire article as certain QT compatible formats are not necessarily "native" to the free version, i.e.; some must be purchased by the user as optional plugins. I believe MPEG-2 falls into that category.
All of that being said, any DVD (and probably VCD/SVCD) you create with DPS4 should be compatible with MAC assuming the MAC user has DVD playback software installed.
Good luck,
-Mike
