I want to output Dolby Digital 5.1 audio with Divx video encoding... I can't figure out how to get dolby digital with anything but the standard definition DVD profile.
Is this possible with VS11?
Can VS11+ do Dolby Digital w/ DivX?

mp3 is sterio, not 5.1
I am having the same issue. i have a 5.1 source that i want in my divx avi output.
the only options i have the are 5.1 in the AVI options section are PCM 5.1... this will encode, but any time i try to play it back on any player, they all throw an audio codec error "unknown codec 65534".
I know dolby ac3 is supported by everything... how can i select ac3 for AVI output?

If you create a mpeg2 file with Dolby 5.1 audio you can use this file in SUPER to create a Divx file with 5.1 audio.
When using super select avi as the container, divx as the codec (then set the correct video parameters / bit-rates etc to encode ).
For the audio just click on the COPY button so it's passed through the encoder & multi-plexed into the divx stream. The divx files I've been making (even interlaced divx videos) play fine and do have Dolby 5.1 Audio.
You can de-interlace the video in VS or leave the video fielded.
You can tell SUPER to de-interlace or have SUPER retain the correct fielding.
This depends on your playback target since many dvd players can now playback divx videos (so you may want to retain the fielding information).
