Hello,
I am VERY frustrated right now. I just talked to a sales rep before Corel support closed for the weekend. I bought Video Studio 11 Plus. Couldn't buy it myself on their site because it wouldn't give the sale price upon checkout.
So I get this e-mail confirming that the sales rep charged my credit card:
???OrderAuthorizedTopNotify_Text???
Quantity Item Shipping Method Each Total
1 Video Studio 11 Plus Download (Download Version) Online $129.99 $129.99
Subtotal before discounts: $129.99
CSR ORDER DISCOUNT: -$30.00
Subtotal: $99.99
Shipping: $0.00
Total: $99.99
???OrderAuthorizedESDDownloadNotify_Text???
???OrderAuthorizedESDNotify_Text???
???OrderAuthorizedBottomNotify_Text???
---
And thats EXACTLY how it appears.... question marks all over the place and everything. So thats great... now what? Where's my serial number / activation key??? I FINALLY found it when I went to www.ulead.com and clicked on "Member" on top... then it showed under products that I own:
Date Product Serial Number QTY
2007-12-07 ESD VS 11 PLUS ENG PURCHASE FIRST 1.0
(There is a serial key there too but that doesn't copy over onto this text box).
(And what the heck does the PURCHASE FIRST thing mean above? Couldn't find that in help either)
So I start up my expired trial version of Video Studio 11 and enter the above mentioned key/serial number and get the following error:
"Activation was unsuccessful. The activation code is incorrect."
So then I decide that maybe I have a different version of software then I purchased. Uninstalled, rebooted, then attempted to find out where to download the full version of Video Studio 11 Plus..... CAN'T FIND IT! Only thing I can find is where to download a "free trial" or try before you buy thing. So I download and install again. Entered the serial key and it gives the same message!
Whats the deal? I need to work on my project this weekend and the support has already gone home. Why was I left high and dry?
As a software programmer I have to say the layout of the Ulead site and process is somewhat poor. Where are the links to where you can download your version of the software that you purchased? Must you download the trial, THEN register that? Why is the help not very helpful? Why is there no clear direction?
So how do I download the full version of Video Studio 11 Plus? And then how do I register it?
Man.... it shouldn't be this hard.
Thanks and sorry to be a pain,
Rob
Cannot Register Video Studio Even Though I Just Bought It!

Welcome to the forums,
The common practice is for Corel to have a download link in the confirmation email, to download the installation file. Have you checked in any emails that you received after purchasing it? I know that the links can be easily overlooked.
It appears that you purchased the full download version. Activation keys and serial numbers are different kettles of fish.
I hope it's a case of just overlooking the link, otherwise this has to be a new low for Corel. Lately they have not been sending the second link for the content files.

I just figured it out after I calmed down a bit
The e-mail had to be corrupted and the last part was missing. I even signed into gmail.com to look at the original (since I use Thunderbird). It had those question marks everywhere and only contained about 1/2 of the body compared to the one I eventually found on the ulead site.
Once I clicked on "Review Your Order Status and History", then the "Order Number" links, I found a copy of what was supposed to be sent in the original e-mail to my inbox. It contains the download links as you suggest!!
Sorry I was so steamed earleir.
And thank you again for the reply!

And if you go to the Ulead.com website, click on the Download button across the top near the logo, then select Update Packs, then navigate to VS11, be sure to download, first, the patch dated 6 November, which will fix various things wrong with your VS11+. Then download and install the Power Pack which is above the patch. That will upgrade your VS11+ to VS11.5, plus expand what it can do. It is free to registered owners of VS11.
Make you download and install them in that order: first the patch, then the Power Pack.
