Takeoneflix tutorials

Post by Royde »

Hi guys, I am new to video editing and using VS 11 just for family movies from my Sony HC 47 camcorder.

Done a couple now and really pleased with the titles and other effects. This has been achieved with much help from the tutorials.
But, recently the tutorials stop running mid content which they have not done previously,ie "Video Capture Basics" runs 3.51/10.00 mins. Have run this a couple of times before full length OK.

My HP computer was supplied with WinDVD Creater 2 pre-installed and I have updated with VS 11, can also run TV news streams OK.

Help would be great to stop the fustration  [/quote]

Sounds like you need to let the owner of the site that content is hosted on know, rather then here.

Perhaps the server was busy. I just watched it start to finish and it was OK.

Hey Royde,

I hope you check out WinDVD Creator 2 - don't dismiss it! It's a great, simple and very compact program with a very clean interface, that can render miniDV avi footage to mpeg-2 quicker than any other program I know, with a finished picture quality only slightly inferior to VS - and it has some great filters.

I particularly like the "Video Wall" and "Mirror" filters, but my favourite has to be the rain one. In fact it's so much better than the (albeit different) rain filter in VS that I sometimes apply the filter to an avi clip and render it to avi output suitable for importing into a VS project.

Since WinDVD Creator was an Intervideo product, I'd hope some of those great filters would have found their way into VS when Intervideo took over, but it never happened.

Firstly thanks all you guys who replied.

Hey 2Dogs

Thank you for your recommendations. I had problems with the InterVideo WinDVD Creater 2 programme as I recall the programme kept changing the size of the title text font, the narration sound was not audable even when all the sound levels were set to maximum, transition effects were jerky etc; hence the purchase of VS11 as appeared a more professional programme from all the reviews I read. I do agree that rendering was certainly a lot quicker than VS11.
VS11 runs just fine, but I used the tutorials to enable me to use the contents to the full.

I quess it must be a computer setting that has kicked in but I have done all I can think of without success.

Hi Clevo

Of course I contacted the host server in the first instance.

Howerver, I posted a note on this forum as I thought, due to the numerous members using the VS Forum then some members would possibly be consulting the Takeoneflix tutorials to enhance their movies and may have come across the problem I have reported.
