I've been following this forum for several years, and I must say it is one of the best resources for MSP on the web. It would be difficult to find a more interesting and diverse group of experts.
Here's an easy question to initiate my membership:
I'm building a new system for video & graphics production. It's been a while since I installed MSP7. I've got SP3 and the latest burning patch from Ulead's website. Are there any other patches/updates I might be missing? Were there any patches for the included Movie Factory 2 LE or are those included in MSP7 SP3?
I'll update my profile with specs once I get the new beast up and running.

Welcome to the forums,
It seems that you have all the patches and updates that there will ever be, except an upgrade to MSP8.
One very sad thing is that, Ulead was purchased by Intervideo, and Corel then purchased Intervideo. So as the title to this web board indicates, it is a Corel web board.
Since the acquisition by Corel, MSP seems to be a dead end program for them. MSP8 is in need of some serious updates, patches and fixes. All of which are being ignored by Corel. Members have demanded attention to this for over a year now.
So one thing to consider in building your "beast" machine, is that MSP8 might run on Vista, but there is no guarantee of stability. MSP7 definitely will not run on Vista. So make sure that you stick with whatever OS you have been running MSP7 on, if you want to continue to use it.

It's a shame about MSP. I chose it over Premiere when I was looking for a pro editor and never regretted the decision. MSP7 does everything I need it to do for now.
Never felt the need to be a beta tester for Microsoft, so I'm sticking with Windows XP. The new box is more for 3d apps and faster encoding.

Erm... yes it does - but just like MSP8 - not properly - there will be a few niggles that you must be prepared to put up with.vidoman wrote:...... MSP7 definitely will not run on Vista.......
