I have a Dell Inspiron notebook with a Matshita DVDRWBD UJ-110. I just purchased WinDVD 8 Gold after looking for a long time for a Blu-Ray compatible playback program. The box states that the program supports Windows Vista and has, in a blue bubble, "HD DVD & Blu-ray High-definiton disc playback" while noting after that in small letters "sold separately. Visit www.intervideo.com for details."
I know that it isn't my processor or drive. I've worked through those two thoroughly already. With other programs, the disc is detected in the drive, but many of them just play audio and no visuals since they aren't intended for Blu-Ray playback. With this program, if I insert a BD into the drive, "Play," appears in the top left corner, followed shortly by "Stop," no matter what you try to do to get the stupid thing to play the disc.
To summarize:
Blu-Ray playback results in ¡§Eject¡¨ or ¡§Stop¡¨ appearing in green letters on the top left corner of the screen. No playback results.
Is WinDVD 8 Gold even compatible with Blu-Ray? Would the fact that I have an ATI video card have anything to do with it?
WinDVD 8 BD for Dell?
