Thanks for the advice once again, and will now be saving pics ala bitmap.

I still dont 'get' the saving to folder etc...and againf just from past experiance will opt for the hard way this time around...as im really not sure that once rendered and saved to then copy this 15x wont effect quality ( again, said only because in the past when ive tried it there was a noticable difference )..believe me i would love to creat my project + menu setup and save once and for all!

Not wanting to start a new thread about this, so will just ask, DVD's...good dvds....Verbatim et al...all seems ok to me, but if anyone knows any difference please let me know? A great neigh fantastic archive quality dvd? and what about dvd cases, not keen on the real thin ones, would like one which takes two dvds and ideally a see-though one. Of course ive looked around online, but really would like to hear from the horses mouth so to speak...any good quality ones.

Finally, no harm in throwing this into the mix as well....printing....wanting to create via PI my dvd cover, anyone know where i can send my 'creation' off to be professionally printed? Ive had a couple of photo books done, and was tempted to create a photobook of dvd covers and then cut them out....think would work out the same cost wise...but any options please let me know.

thanks again

It depends on your burner. Verbatim have a good reputation, but I've only ever had average to good results with them, but better results from Sony and some TDK and Imation discs that were MADE IN MALAYSIA. (look for it on the label) Most people feel that the outright best quality discs are made in Japan by Taiyo Yuden. Some are claimed to have a 100 year archival life! They are available mail order for about $0:40 per disc. In general, I get better results from DVD+R media than from DVD-R. Some users report better compatibility with standalone DVD players when using DVD-R media, but this issue is moot if you have a DVD burner that allows you to set the "booktype" to DVD-ROM. Many recent burners will automatically do this. ALL DVD players can play DVD-ROM discs, since that is the format for pressed commercial discs, eg movies.

For cases, I think you're better off going for the one-piece grey or black plastic larger ones that hold two discs (you can get versions that hold up to 5 discs in the same style) They feature a clear film cover, into which you can slip your printed cover which wraps around the front and back of the case. More area for graphics, which is good if you have access to good photos.

(Many of my own DVD's live in paper sleeves or Ziploc bags not really suitable for presentation!!)

In 100 years consumer video will not have any moving parts.
DVD's readers will be gone and not available along with their ata/sata interfaces & connection methods, everything will be wireless/solid state.

The dvd's will probably end up in the sights of a young man's sling shot.

Taiyo Yuden discs.
Once you've made your digital dvd version, be it a dvd an ISO or dvd folders, copying off 1,000,000,000 copies will not affect the quality.
Don't know where you live, so I could reccomend somehere here in Staffordshire UK, but it may not be much use to you!!!
For 15 copies you may as well buy a decent inkjet phot printer and buy some good paper and do it yourself, won't cost much difference.

Icing on the cakebox

The icing on the cake, as it were, would be to use printable DVD's, but you would need a suitable printer. Such printers are popular and commonly available in Europe, but less common in the US - where some models actually have the disc slot blanked out. Must be the all-pervasive influence of the MPIAA, who are clearly unable to conceive of legitimate uses for DVD printers.

Whatever you do, do not consider using stick-on disc labels!

Her's a place for Taiyo Yuden DVD media in the UK - prices not so great as in US, but printable stuff usually costs more anyway.

Here's a UK link for the cases I referred to:

And here's one for Curry's if you must go there! (but it's for a toothbrush!)

Bit of creative advice needed here please, have looked on various wedding sites, just to get a flavour of the intro, spice things up etc...sadly, all look the same really..suppose theres only so much you can do...with the footage i have, not even a shot of the church etc...so in a bit of pickle...still cant make mircles outta nothing..but saying that would like to give it a good go, and make a decent job of it all.

Anyway, any 'creative' thoughts, on starting a video, or websites please feel free to let me know.
Basically, I built a business on wedding videos. I don't have a web site, nor do I have any samples to show you. All my clients want privacy, and the business was built on word of mouth. Hence, I don't need a web site, for now.

However, my main competition, which I'll be happy to post a link to, is, http://www.stacymarks.com/. They use basically the same equipment (hehe mine much better) I use, however, the software is way out of range of VS and even MSP. (Final Cut Pro) (Stacy has won many awards for his photography and style in the Southeast USA)

Thats the "high end" part of my business. The middle to lower end, I do use MSP and VS for this, but, it's a more personal approach video.

Which, to be honest sells more service than one or two high end videos sells.

If it's a one time video for you, my advice is, don't be boring. Highlight the main event, and the required stuff. Which is, the dances, ie, bride and groom, father daughter, mother son, wedding party, cake cutting, etc.

I made a list of the actual events to document and go by that.

Anything else, like "drunk groom falling off stage" is a bouns (and possible legal evidence in future divorce)

Speaking of legal issues. I live in the USA. Did you get a release from the parties being videoed? If you don't you can be sued, here at least, at a later date, without warning.

Yea, yea, it's a bunch of freinds at a freinds wedding. LOL, thats the one one that will burn you.

Sheesh, now I wanna sell this business.. LOL..
