Does anyone know if there is any software that will assist in creating a short video clip where you can replace the heads of the people in the video with some cut-out overlay heads of different people?
I recently saw a television commercial that had this affect. It was an older black&white video and the heads of the people in the video was replaced with color heads (pictures cut out).
I don't believe VideoStudio has a feature like this.
Create Video w cut out heads on bodies

Actually you can (I put a smiley face in an overlay track in place of a person's face), but it is very tedious as it has to be done frame by frame. If it is just a short piece you want to do you can give it a try with VS. If it's more than a few minutes I would look into other software. No it doesn't..I think you'll need a pro quality NLE that can do frame by frame movements.

I see what you mean now Black Lab..... it is possible.Black Lab wrote:Actually you can (I put a smiley face in an overlay track in place of a person's face), but it is very tedious as it has to be done frame by frame. If you had a bitmap or Jpeg of each face on a black background you can drop a still in the overlay and do it on a frame by frame basis.
In preferences you would select to display the video on the timeline in frames then toggle forward frame by frame and adjust the overlayed image.
Tedious but doable.

This is only suitable for a short sequence of a few minutes because each frame has to be done. Using PAL as an example that is 25 frames per second or 1500 frames per minute.
MediaStudio/VideoStudio: Use A Video Sequence File
