I am having a problem with JPEGs made from Photoimpact 6.0 not being read in various brands of digital picture frames. The JPEGs that do not work (format not supported) are those from a digital camera that have been cropped, reduced in size, color corrected or otherwise image enhanced. Sometimes the thumbnails are shown but never the full picture. All are saved in the JPEG format. Pictures that have not been image enhanced work fine.
This problem only involves pictures made from a digital camera (apparently any brand) and later enhanced in Photoimpact 6.0. Pictures that were scanned from photographs and enhanced in Photoimpact 6.0 work fine.
I have found that the digital photos that were enhanced in Adobe Photoshop Elements work fine. But I much prefer using Photoimpact.
Has anyone else had this problem? Is this also a problem with a later version of Photoimpact?
Any suggestions will be much appreciated

The only thing I could think off is the way you save these images after "enhancement" in PI.
Please describe, step by step, how you are saving them. Are you setting the options for the jpg compression?
Which compression mode are you using? I don't know about your very old version of PI but in later ones at least, the modes you have available are "Standard", "Standard Optimized" and "Progressive"
I had a problem once with images on a CD which were saved in "Progressive" mode. My DVD player, which plays jpeg images, reported a "image format not supported" message with these. Once I changed to "Standard" compression mode, the problem disappeared.

OK, Heinz. You must be a genius. Using Progressive Mode must have been the problem, since I resaved several of the photos in Standard Mode, and they worked fine on the Digital Picture Frame.
I've been all over town today trying various Digital Picture Frames, and no one had a solution. No one had ever seen the problem.
How come I've been using Progressive Mode? Beats me. I guess because P comes before S, and I never gave it a thought to change it.
Thanks again.
