Flash animation files won't work anymore

Post by kelleen »

None of my flash animation files are working (they had been). This is the message that I'm getting: The content of these files is unreadable. C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio 11\Samples\Video\MotionF31.swf. The most recent thing I have done is download ulead video tutorials and a shockwave flash player. How can get the animation files working again?

This often happens if your flash player software has been updated to a new version. Look on your setup disc for flashplayer7.exe and re-install it.

when you say 'set up disk', are you referring to Ulead program disc?

Yes Steve is referring to the Ulead program disc. You can also get earlier versions of Adobe Flashplayer HERE.

thank you, and thank you for the direct link. I will download v7. I just wonder if the computer will let me install an older version, I seem to have v9 installed now.

If you had a download version then use winzip to extract the file from the setup program.

Example VideoStudio 11+ = uvs11_plus_(e).exe

I had same trouble and repaired with same method...
But what to do if I need more recent Flash Player for other application (for example I store H264 coded video on my web site, and the needed version for reading it in flash player is 9.0.115 !)
Should I install V7 when I use Ulead VideoStudio and re-install V9 when I leave the program ?
Isn't there any clean way to have both installed in separate path ?

Thanks for your advice

Flash issue

Post by tommytucker »

My main issue with using the 'old' flash player with VS10+, is that many websites keep asking me to install the latest player to view content. Seems a shame that I can't upgrade to view content on these sites and still use VS10+ Flash functions.

A method you could use is to find the directory containing your flash files and rename it. Now Install the other version.

C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash

You now have two versions of flash on your hard drive.
The one in the correctly named directory is the one that will be run.
By swapping their names round the other will run.

A quicki method of doing this is to create a batch file using a piece of software called batchrun
