No Audio for intro

Post by Zentron »

I just burned 2 DVDs but each time, there has been no audio in the video file I'm using for the intro..... granted they are below 10 seconds, but this shouldn't be a problem! Should it?!

I'm using these settings:

MPEG files
24 bits, 720 x 576, 25 fps
Frame-based
(DVD-PAL), 4:3
Video data rate: Variable (Max. 7000 kbps)
Audio data rate: 224 kbps
MPEG audio layer 2, 48 KHz, Stereo

What are the properties of the source video file(s) used for the intro's?

AVI format:

Audio

Bit Rate = 1536kbps
Audio sample size = 16 bit
Audio Format = PCM

Video

Frame Rate = 25fps
Video sample size = 24 bit
Video Compression = MC_DVD

And should've said, burned using DVD MovieFactory 10 Plus!

I think you mean VideoStudio 10+
MC-DVD - Main Concept.
Have you installed a separate copy of that codec rather than the codec that is built into VideoStudio which would be listed in the create video stage as PAL DVD.

Oops, soz, I have them pinned above each other on the Start Menu and got the versions confused!

The DVDs were burned using UMF6+, the video file as put together using VS10... though this is a recent thing! In UMF5 that I was using before I went and upgraded to 6+, I made intros with VS10 and they worked fine when I burned the DVDs. Also, I haven't installed a new audio codec for more than half a year, longer than me having either of the '6 or 10' versions.

Just re-read the above and find this a bit confusing. If your video compression was MC_DVD then surely that created an MPEG2 file not one with an 'avi' extension.

Well I tried again though this time to create a MPEG output file, but it crashed about 70% of the way through... bummer!
