Ordered 11.5 received version 11 plus

Post by randazzo »

I just ordered and paid the downlowad version Ulead 11.5. Because I need it for my JVC TOD files.

The downloadfile consists of version 11 plus (NO Tod support) and no sign of a link to the bonus content.

You will need to complete a Customer Service Form. Please Click on the Image to be taken to the Form.

Or go to the Corel Customer Service website, and more information is provided for contacting them.

It seems that Corel has been failing to provide the links to download the content or bonus pack files. I know Tobie Openshaw has been informed of this. However it does not appear to have been corrected yet..

Thanks.

Just to be sure. It's not only about missing the link to the bonus content. But the link supplied is of version 11 and NOT 11.5. Which I ordered through ulead.co.uk.

Jean-Paul -- did you already have VS11? If not, then it is true you have to pay for the upgrade to VS11.5 from version 10 or earlier.

But if you already had VS11, then you did not need to pay anything to upgrade to VS11.5. And as far as I am aware, unless they have already brought out a package which consists of a full install of VS11.5 from the start, the path you have to follow to get VS11.5 is first to install VS11 (including the Extra Content -- did you get a link for that?) Then you go to the Ulead Download site and under Updates, for VS11 you will find both an update patch dated 6 November, which corrects various things wrong with VS11; and also a Power Pack. When you install the latter, VS11 becomes VS11.5. And it should deal with your .TOD files.

But if you haven't been provided with these links, then it sounds as though Corel still hasn't corrected this silly behaviour (which we complained about months ago) of only sending one link. And vidoman's advice about sending a customer form may be the only way to go.

I owned VS 10 so I paid for the upgrade. I''m beginning to understand that the the received downloadlink plus patch and an extra dowload will deliver VS 11.5.

Very confusing. There's been no mentioning of this all and if it wasn't for this forum I wouldn't have found this out. Anyway. I have 11.5 installed now and it seems to be working. BUT, I'm missing some features like: Smartsound and Movie Wizard templates. So it seems I need another link to recieve the so-called bonus material.

Well, I've send Corel an email yesterday. To be honest: in my perception this doesn't deserve an Oscar.

Jean-Pierre (sorry I called you Jean-Paul before -- thinking of Belmondo no doubt!!  ) It is not the "so called bonus material" you need. That is a third and separate link and gives you WinDVD and I can't recall what else. What you are missing is in the definitely called 'Extra Content' Link which you also have not been given.

And yes, I agree, Corel has not covered itself in glory with this whole exercise!

No problem, Ken. You're not the first and problably won't be the last. ;-)

Well, you're right about the extra content link. Is there somewhere a direct link to this file? The bonus content doesn't interest me much.

BTW I'm very happy with the fact that I can work directly with the TOD JVC files. This has been a huge p... in the ... before!

It's a pity that such a good product as VS11 gets distributed in this way. It doesn't do right to the program.

Thank you very much! I'm downloading everything right now.

BTW. I've received a message from Corel support about my order. They told me:
1) "VS 11.5 does not support native TOD"
This answer is wrong because it DOES.
2) "Please rename the TOD files to MPG and then import those."
Wrong again. This was the remedy with MOD files from JVC but does not work with TOD files on previous VS versions
3) "the links to the bonus and extra content are provided in the confirmation email"
And that makes three and they're out. Wrong again! That's why I emailed them because the links we're NOT provided.

Support hasn't been stellar inb the past with Ulead but now it seems to have reached a point we couldn't have been dreaming of.

Anyway, I think this forum is great and thanks again for providing me with the right stuff. Without this forum I would have left Corel and go to Sony Vegas. Which I would rather not. I find the VS program very good and easy to work with.

Kind Regards,
Jean-Pierre

Have experienced the same problem this evening.

Hi.

It seems that the problem has not been solved yet as I experienced the same problem this evening (Denmark).

I received an order confirmation where the downloadlink gave me access to version 11. There was no downloadlink to the extra content files.

Fortunately I found out about my problem through this forum.

Perhaps one of You could be so nice to send me a PM with the link to the extra content - as I would like to use the software for some videoediting this week-end.

So far I have updated manually to version 11.5 with the downlaodable updates - but it seems that the program miss a lot of features as it is now.

Best regards

Well the support soap ends here for me. I received an email to get in contact by phone with the support department.

Now, how difficult can this problem get? We bought a product. The links to the software are NOT in the confirming email. That's all there is really. Just to be fixed by sending the correct links. On a complexity scale from 1 to 10 I would rate this 2. Or even 1 actually.. No, they want me to get in contact by phone. Well, I live in Holland so I don't regard this as a real option. Perhaps, the support fellow wreckoned this already? Who knows.

Imagine you encounter a real problem with this program. Just hope someone on this forum is able to help you. When you depend on the support department of Corel you're on your own.

This is so sad.

Thanks for the help.

I really apreciated this help as I now can continue with my work.

When I bought VS 9 I did not experience these problems, so I will try to contact the support next week.

Am having same problem as other users. Have upgraded to VS11.5 (from 8) but have no link to the extra content. Am waiting on Corel Support, but if someone could give me the link I would be eternally grateful!
