UVS 11+ POWERPACK

Post by ramdaspillai »

hI,

When I loaded the Powerpack update, all old settings have gone. e.g. I have copied some samples, sound tracks and transitions from previous versions which all have disappeared.

Also the auto movie and slide show templates which were there in the original application has been replaced with some new. I haven't checked the DVD menu templates which would also have been replaced.

Can I get those back by reinstalling VS 11+. How to retain the old templates and transitions etc while updating with the powerpack.

Thanks

Use System Resotre!

Hi Pillai

if you have VS11+ on CD you might be able to track down those templates and try copying them into the appropriate folders in your patched VS11 install. It could well be that there were some problems with the superseded templates, however, so it would be wise to make a Windows System Restore point before you try it! Then you can undo any problems you might inadvertently cause.

One thing you won't be able to restore (unless you did have a system restore point prior to applying the recent patches!) would be your library folders. any folders you created using the library manager are wiped out by the power pack and patch. (not sure which of those two, since I applied both on the same day before I noticed my own library folders had gone!)

VS11+ POWERPACK

Post by ramdaspillai »

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I only applied the powerpack and am yet to load the patch which i shall do it tomorrow.

I have yet another problem. my automusic doesn't play, no sound at all. when i play the clip in the autosound window as well as placing it on the sound track, it doesn't play when i click the play button.

I've also rendered the movie and tried to play it but no sound at all. however, the sound clicks from sound library and added from CD play well.

Another question. My son has a MP3 player which can also play videos. I rendered some video clips in all the format available in Ulead VS11+ for mobile phones/ipod/mp4 players, but none of the clip play in my player. The clip available in the player is named AVSEQ.AMV (with an .AMV file extension). Anyone knows in which format I should burn the video and what is the process cycle.

Would appreciate if any one can help with it.

Thanks

Pillai

Regarding SmartSound, have you downloaded and installed the update patch from the SmartSound.com website? An associated problem can be the version of QuickTime you are using. SmartSound requires, for some reason or other, QuickTime and the VS installation process installs a version. It seems to be that version that SmartSound requires. But it you install the SmartSound patch then a new version of QuickTime, SmartSound seems to work.
