The makers of Nero are now well aware of the InCD problem, and no longer include it in the standard installation of the Nero suite. You have to consciously choose to install it in versions 7 and 8, though it was automatic in previous versions. You can check in Control Panel > Add/Remove Software as InCD shows as a separate program installation and, if it is there, can be removed that way.

However, more to the point regarding your particular problem, have you gone to the Microsoft DirectX website and downloaded the latest update patch. The current one is dated March 2008 and can be found at http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... laylang=en
Note that it updates both DirectX 9.0c (XP) and 10 (Vista). The number of your DirectX installation will not change, but the patch gives extra functionality in a number of areas and corrects other faults in VS11 in particular which do appear linked to Windows updates. The menu preview problem seems to be amongst them.

OK, I got it! :D

The answer was already on the Corel Knowledgebase. I just finished doing it and it worked for me!

http://support.corel.com/scripts/rightn ... &p_li=

You'll have to manually uninstall VideoStudio following these instruction referenced in the link above:

http://support.corel.com/scripts/rightn ... =uninstall

I then followed these instruction for reinstalling which I got from Corel previously.

STEP 1: Download and install the Microsoft Windows Clean Up utility.
This will remove all registry keys associated with the VideoStudio
install process:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.as ... -us;290301

STEP 2: Run the Windows Clean Up utility:

Click Start | Programs | Windows Install Clean Up.
Highlight VideoStudio from the list of products.
Click Remove.

STEP 3: Repair your system registry by using Registry Repair (freeware):
http://www.glarysoft.com/rr.html?tag=download

STEP 4: Delete temporary files by using CCleaner (freeware):
http://www.ccleaner.com/download

(I actually used a utility that was available on the site in step 3 instead.)

STEP 5: Re-install VideoStudio 11 Plus. Please install your VideoStudio
11 plus on this way:

1.) Install first the UVS11Plus_E.exe:
http://www.corel.com/akdlm/6763/downloa ... lus/UVS11P
lus_E.exe

(I actually used a file I had on CD.)

2.) Then VideoStudio 11.5 content pack:
http://www.corel.com/akdlm/6763/downloa ... lus/UVS11P
lus_ESD_E_Content.exe

(I actually used a file I had on CD.)

3.) Then VideoStudio bonus pack:
http://www.corel.com/akdlm/6763/downloa ... lus/UVS11P
lus_ESD_E_Bonus.exe

(I actually used a file I had on CD.)

4.) Then VideoStudio 11 plus Power Pack:
http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite/ ... 0155?pid=1
193331978256

5.) and Ulead VideoStudio 11 Update Pack:
http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite/ ... 0155?pid=1
192197502277

The build version should now be 11.5.0157.2 Plus.

I hope it works for you too! Let us know.

WWVideo - forgive the perhaps obvious question - but at what point did you uninstall VS? I can see registry repair etc in your process but not the uninstall of the main programme.

In the above sequence, it is step 0 -- you first uninstall, then do all the others. My only comment, though, would be to install the update patch before the Power Pack... Otherwise, fine...

Bingo!
Looks like WWVideo's process (with Ken's amendment) has worked for me too. I can now click on the 'Next' button and make it through to the final screen. Haven't actually burned a DVD yet but it's looking good.

I couldn't use Registry Repair freeware as it doesn't run on Vista 64-bit so I downloaded CleanMyPC which I unfortunately had to pay for :(

I will be keeping one eye on the reliability of VS for the next few days/weeks - last time i installed the PowerPack VS kept crashing out on me so I had resintalled VS without it.
This time I've gone for the full reinstall (as per WWV/Ken) so it will be interesting to see what happens..........

Thanks, guys.

Looks like the forum has scored again.

And maybe not...........

What a disaster!

I could click on the 'Next' button without a problem but everything else was pants.
Programmes that used to run fine on Vista suddenly didn't want to.
I lost my broadband connection and two hours on the phone to support didn't bring it back.

Suspect it was all to do with cleaning the registry but I really have no idea what the hell happened.

After a long night at the keyboard I am almost back to where I began having gone for a system restore.

I have now gone through the WWVideo/Ken process again and I seem to have VideoStudio running okay - including the famous 'Next' button.

I have the following specific comments:

- Ideleted VS11+ at the beginning of the process as suggested by Ken
- There were no VS files available for deletion when I ran Windows Install Clean Up.
- I have not dared to touch the Registry!!

Any comments?

The only comment I have, is Do Not attempt any changes to the system registry, unless you first back it up, and then only if you know what you're doing.

I stay away from any registry cleaning utilities, as they can tend to remove more than is needed, and can have disastrous results.

I couldn't agree more.
Still having major problems - my home network has now gone loopy and all the IP addresses have corrupted.

Looks like I'll have to get my local computer shop in to fix it all.
And they don't work for free.
