Problem VideoStudio sound

Post by Geona »

Hello,
I¡¬m using VideoStudio 11 and have the following problem: After playing some AVI videos the sound gets shrill, harsh and impossible to use. I¡¬m using an external sound card via firewire connection. After disconnecting the sound card and connecting again, the problem has gone for some seconds but starts again.
I have no problems with other sound software such as itunes, real Player or Media Player, also these avi video files sound perfect continously.
So, what can be the reason for this?
Please, any ideas or help welcome.
Thanks
George

Note that "AVI" in not a single format. It's a "container" file, and it can contain audio & video with almost any compression-format.

If this is AVI/DV from a MiniDV camera, it contains uncompresed PCM audio which Video Studio normally can handle.

If Video Studio can't decode your audio format, you may need to use a 3rd-party conversion program to convert the file to something Video Studio can handle.
