Divx + Youtube problem

Post by hawaii_don »

I am trying to upload an AVI file to youtube that I created in VS 11. After I upload it I get the message that Youtube failed to convert my video. I have followed several instructions in this forum for configuring the DivX settings and have tried several more settings to no avail. I downloaded the latest DivX release two days ago.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Don

Have you tried the WMV settings in VS11+. YouTube seems to not have a problem with that.

Just go to Share video on-line, and select Youtube. It will prompt you, if you don't have a project in the timeline, or one selected in the Library for a WMV file.

Yeah I did the WMV video but the quality is not that great. I was hoping the Divx quality would be better. I did one in mpeg-4 and it was somewhat better than the wmv but not what I had hoped for.

Is there anything better quality than WMV? THe Divx videos play great on my computer and the quality is much better than the WMV vids.

Thanks,
Don

Keep in mind that Youtube will convert any file to the .flv type which means it's futher compressed...and the longer the video it seems, the more it compresses.

If you're wanting to display your video on the web, and DivX produces a better quality, have you entertained putting it on DivX's own website?

I just went back to Stage6, and guess what.. They are doing some work on the site so uploading video is disabled. :( Hopefully not for long though..:)
